Hi there,
My name is Andy Hill and I am a qualified Hypnotherapist working clinically in South Somerset. Some years ago, hypnotherapy improved my life very significantly and since qualifying I have found it inspiring to help other people achieve positive change, using the same techniques. Please get in touch if you would like to find how hypnotherapy could help you.
I look forward to meeting you.

What can Hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy uses standardised techniques to help people with a wide range of issues where strong, overwhelming, unwanted emotions and habits are present. These include:

What type of hypnotherapy do you provide?

I provide solution-focused hypnotherapy. Solution focused approaches consider people as the experts in their own life and help them connect with the solutions that they do possess (but may not be able to currently see). Solution focused work helps people reimagine their preferred future and take meaningful, realistic steps towards this.

Hypnosis is not something that is done to you, it helps you enter your own, natural hypnotic state.

Who do you work with?

I work with children (usually aged 8 and above), Young People and Adults of any age and welcome people from any background, culture, preference, disability, history or way or life.

How many sessions will I need?

The benefits of Hypnotherapy are felt quickly and the majority of people who come for therapy only need between 3 and 10 sessions. (Stop smoking is unique and can be achieved in a single 2.5 hour session).

How much do the sessions cost?

Initial conversations on the telephone or via Zoom are free.

A full Initial Consultation is 1 hour in duration and costs £30.

Therapy Sessions are for 1 hour and cost £55 if booked and paid for in advance

Where is the therapy available?

Hypnotherapy is available in Ilminster, Chard, Yeovil and online. Home and workplace visits are also available. Click here to see the Venues Page

How successful is hypnotherapy

At Behypnotherapy we measure outcomes using a special tool called CORP. This helps you track how you are feeling (e.g. your happiness, confidence and achievement) and your progress towards your goals. The CORP scores continually show that:

  • most people feel better even after the first session
  • people make significant changes across more than one area
  • some people make very significant changes, changes they never imaged possible

Is Hypnotherapy safe?

Yes, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is safe and bound by modern professional and ethical standards. I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Health Care Council and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

What does Clinical Hypnotherapy Involve?

The first session is called an Initial Consultation, this takes up to 1.5 hours. This involves really listening to what you are experiencing and what you would like to change. We ask lots of questions about your history and hopes for therapy. We explain some of the neuroscience about our strong emotions, habits and behaviours, what hypnosis is and how solution focused hypnotherapy can help.  You can then decide if you would like therapeutic sessions which include hypnosis.

Subsequent sessions are 1 hour long and include about 30 minute of solution focused brief therapy and up to 25 minutes of hypnosis.

We also give you a self hypnosis audio to listen to each day whilst we work together. This is an important aspect because it familiarises people with the tehniques used in the sessions and helps you practice having a calm state of mind.
